With the construction of SPRINGFIELD, Sandy and I have realized our dream of a career and commitment to the pet care industry.
Early in life, we both showed tendencies toward this goal. Sandy was lucky enough to be raised in a rural environment and always had many and varied pets.
This interest developed into a horse boarding and training business in the early 70’s. My interest has always been in outdoor related activities. After graduating from Michigan State with a degree in wildlife management, I began my working career as shooting preserve manager and dog trainer at the Hunter’s Creek Club. After three years, I was hired by Laura Ford to manage her Wingford Kennels and Shooting Preserve. During my 14 year stay at Wingford, I took a two year leave of absence to work on Ducks Unlimited’s national staff as a regional director. I also served several years as a board member of the Wolverine Retriever Club. Sandy and I met in 1976 and have worked together as a team since that time.
Our own particular interests have always complemented each other. Sandy specializes in grooming and obedience training, and I direct and lead the gun dog training program and the overall operation of the business. It is our hope to combine our state-of-art facility with our wealth of knowledge and experience to provide you and your pet with the finest of animal care available.
Sandy and I would like to thank you again for your interest in our SPRINGFIELD PET RESORT AND TRAINING CENTER. As members of the American Boarding Kennel Association, we are committed to quality and ethical pet care. With over 60 years of combined experience, a modern full-service facility and two “Best of Detroit” awards for our kennel business, Sandy and I feel confident we can provide your pet with the best quality care available. All of us at SPRINGFIELD hope we can be of service to you in the near future. Contact us today for more information.
